This venison baked ziti is an easy and delicious pasta dish made with venison meat sauce, noodles and cheese layered in a baking dish for a filling and flavorful dinner.
Ingredients
- 1lb ground venison
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 yellow onion, finely diced
- 1lb ziti noodles
- 2-24 oz jar marinara sauce
- 16-oz ricotta cheese
- 16 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Once the water is boiling, add the noodles to the pot and boil according to the package instructions.
- Drain the water from the pot.
- Add the ground venison, diced onion and minced garlic to a pan on the stovetop and cook on medium to brown the meat.
- Transfer the ground meat to the pot with the noodles.
- Add the pasta sauce, ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the mozzarella and parmesan cheese to the pot.
- Use a spoon to mix all of the ingredients together.
- Pour the pasta into a 9x13 baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Cover the baking dish and place in the oven to bake for 25 minutes at 375 degrees.
