This pork sausage and pea alfredo is a delicious and easy weeknight dinner recipe made with pork sausage and peas cooked in a creamy alfredo sauce and mixed with noodles for a delicious and filling comfort food meal.
Ingredients
- 16oz box of noodles
- 1lb pork sausage
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups frozen peas
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups shredded parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water and place the pot on the stovetop on medium heat to bring the water to a boil.
- Once the water is boiling, pour the noodles into the water and boil the noodles according to the package instructions.
- When the noodles are done boiling, turn the burner off, remove the pot from the stovetop, and pour the noodles and the water into a colander in the sink.
- Return the empty pot to the stovetop and turn the burner back on to medium.
- Place the ground sausage in the pot and cook to brown the sausage.
- Once the sausage is browned, add the butter and spices to the pot.
- Stir to mix the spices into the meat and allow the butter to melt.
- Pour the frozen peas into the pot and stir to combine with the sausage. Allow the peas to cook and soften in the pot for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour the heavy cream and whole milk into the pot and stir to combine with the peas and sausage.
- Bring the liquids to a rolling boil, stirring occasionally as they heat up.
- Allow the liquids to boil for 30 seconds.
- After 30 seconds, turn the burner off.
- Pour the parmesan cheese into the pot and stir to melt the cheese into the sauce.
- Allow the pot to sit for 5 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.
- After 5 minutes, transfer the noodles back into the pot and stir to coat with the sauce before serving.
